OSRS Bounty Hunter Store Guide (2024)

Since launching in OSRS, Bounty Hunter has been one of the more exciting activities in the game. If you’re lucky, you can earn a ton of points to get lots of great items and even some XP for your Skills. Aside from the fun and thrills, one of the reasons why players to Bounty Hunter is to get the rewards from the shop for the mode.

OSRS Bounty Hunter Store Guide (1)

You can find the Bounty Hunter Store inside Daimon’s Crater. You can purchase a variety of goods from him through the points you get from playing Bounty Hunter.

How To Earn Points In OSRS Bounty Hunter

In Bounty Hunter, the goal is to kill a player that’s been given to you as a target. Kill them, and you’ll get a set amount of points. Before you participate in the minigame, you’ll first have to deposit coins into a coffer depending what combat level you are. The good news is that you don’t need to spend your hard-earned points to join.

Bounties will always be within 5 combat levels of your level so you’re never way too weak to fight them. What’s important is that you have the right PvP gear for the job but more on this later. Killing your target will earn you a total of two points. Additionally, you’re given more points per milestone kill which is essentially the amount of players that you successfully beat.

Simply, your 100th kill will reward you with a total of 242 if you consider the bonuses. The only way to lose points in the game is if you spend them on the shop. Aside from this, you can also earn points either by trading or leveling up your esoteric emblems.

You can get a tier 1 emblem during your first kill. As you progress and earn points, you can buy one from the Bounty Hunter Shop for two points. You can level up your emblems by successfully killing your targets. Here’s where things get risky. If you die while carrying an emblem, the tier will get decreased by one level. You’ll still keep this emblem. If you have a tier 1 emblem and you die, it will be removed from your inventory permanently.

Here’s a quick table showing the amount of points that emblem tiers are worth.

Additionally, you can purchase XP for your combat skills too. However, a lot of players deem this as a waste of your precious points considering that you can always train to improve these. Instead of getting any of these, we highly suggest focusing on getting the items first.

It’s worth noting that you can get a bonus XP for making bulk purchases. You’ll have a 1% bonus if you buy around 10-99. You can also get a 10% bonus for buying over 100. If you’re going to buy combat XP at the store, make sure to save up your points and then bulk-buy the items so they’re worth more.

Still, if you want quick XP fast, here’s what you’ll need to spend:

OSRS Bounty Hunter Store Items List

There are quite a few exceptional gear in the Bounty Hunter Store but it’s worth noting that none of these are considered as best in-slot items in any build. Still, they’re worth checking out if you’re a completionist. While they’re not the best of the best, they’re still pretty decent items to have at many parts of the game.

Vesta’s Equipment

Vesta’s Equipment is a pretty solid melee gear to wear and the only real problem with it is that it has horrible attack bonuses for Magic and Range. There are three versions of this set and the stats shown below are what you get for trading your Bounty Hunter Coins at the shop.

This gear set has excellent attack and defense bonuses but don’t bring this when you’re fighting a boss that uses magic as the negative magic defense bonus isn’t going to serve you well. Despite its shortcomings however, this is still a decent gear to have on PvP as long as you’re sure that your targets aren’t equipped for Magic combat.

What’s great about Vesta’s equipment is that it allows you to wear any other helmet that you want to. This means that you can compensate for the lower defences with other gear somehow. As a lot of builds in OSRS revolve around dealing as much damage as possible, Vesta’s equipment is still a solid choice.

Statius’ Equipment

Satius’ equipment is for those who love creating tank builds in OSRS. It pales in comparison to Vesta’s equipment in terms of how much damage it can deal but other than that, the gear set holds its own against many enemies in terms of how much damage you can take while wearing it.

This gear set lacks a lot in terms of pure damage but it certainly makes up for in defenses. If you’re planning on using this, you should only do so when acting as a tank in a raid or in a group boss fight. It’s low offensive bonuses make it one of the worst to have while doing solo activities.

There are other defensive gear in the game that offers better bonuses compared to Statius’ equipment too. Overall, this should be one of the last priorities when you’re trying to buy out all of the armor sets in the Bounty Hunter Shop.

Morrigan’s Equipment

If you’re going for a ranged build, then one of the best gear sets not just in the shop, but in OSRS in general is Morrigan’s equipment. This gives the best attack bonuses for range out of all the gear sets in the shop. The javelin also has the third best attack bonus for range compared to any other weapon, while the throwing axe is the fifth best.

Although the set does provide pretty decent bonuses for ranged combat, not a lot of players actually get the entire set. Just the weapons alone are more than enough for ranged specialists as there are other armor in the game that provides better bonuses for ranged.

By focusing on the weapons, you’ll save up a lot of coins which you can instead use for other items in the shop. Morrigan’s armor pieces are pretty decent during your mid-game journey or if you’re having a tough time against certain bosses. Other than that however, it offers little use.

Zuriel’s Equipment

Many players consider Zuriel’s equipment as the gear out of all the choices in the Bounty Hunter Shop. It’s mainly for magic users though. A lot of players equip Zuriel’s gear during their gear progression on Magic build’s as its power and useability can rival that of the ancestral robes.

One of the main reasons why many magic users love the set is that the staff provides major bonuses when you’re using Ancient Magicks. There’s also an additional 10% bonus to magic damage with the staff. It’s not the most powerful staff in the game but it does the trick for majority of any player’s mid to late game journey.

If you’re a magic user, we highly suggest saving up your coins for Zuriel’s equipment as it’s definitely worth getting. It’s not as pricey as other Magic gear at this level but if you’re good at PvP and your build is strong enough, you can easily save up enough coins on Bounty Hunter for this.

Scrolls

The scrolls are excellent items too but getting them is very situational. For instance, you should only consider getting the scrolls if you actually want to imbue the items they are used for. Other than that, the ornament kits are hard passes as they only add aesthetics to your kit and nothing else. These should be the last on your Bounty Hunter shopping list as they’re actually quite expensive.

OSRS Bounty Hunter Tips For More Coins

With so many rewards to choose from, it can take a lot of time to actually complete any of the sets above. If you’re struggling to get what you want in the game, here are a few tips to keep in mind while doing this minigame.

Be Smart With Target Skipping

You don’t always have to kill your skulled targets. You can actually skip two targets without incurring a penalty within a 30-minute window. On your third attempt to block a target, you’ll be banned from joining Bounty Hunter for 30 minutes. Furthermore, the rewards you earn on your next skill will be halved and you can’t get an emblem from it as well. If you currently have an emblem with you, kills won’t increase its tier.

That said, you need to be very smart when it comes to target skipping. Make sure you analyze your opponents well. While there’s always a maximum of 5 combat levels between you and your target, you should do your best to find targets that are within the range of 3 to 1. Other than that, make sure that you’re focusing on targets that are weak against your current setup.

Buying XP

The Combat XP you can buy from the shop isn’t that worth but that’s only if you’re buying in batches. If you want to make the most out of it, you should accumulate your points first. Buying the XP is actually fairly decent. Increasing your combat levels also means you’re becoming more powerful and you’re having access to more gear.

Unless you’re looking for specific items on the Bounty Hunter Shop, it’s best to choose to level your combat levels as well. While you can always grind for these items, buying them is a quick way to level up especially if the combat levels you’re spending your coins on are relatively low.

Focus On One Gear At A Time

There are obviously many amazing gear at the Bounty Hunter Shop but try not to get all of them up until you’re at a point where you can easily kill other players. What you should focus on first is to simply get the items that you want or the items that you need to round out your build. Accumulating coins can take a long time so you need to spend your money wisely.

Check out the gear above and look for specific things that you need. If you want to create a solid melee DPS, go for Vesta’s gear. Go for Statius’ for tanks, Morrigan’s for ranged, and Zuriel’s for magic. Keep in mind that you don’t have to buy all of the gear in one go. You can buy the gear piece by piece so you can work and grow stronger as you farm.

Always Carry An Emblem With You

Going on Bounty Hunter without an esoteric emblem is a big mistake. There aren’t any risks involved in carrying one other than the fact that you need to spend two coins to get these at the shop. Even still, you can get a free one on your first kill and you can take that along with you for a long time.

Before an update made last year, the emblem drops when you die regardless of what tier it is. The new system only deducts a level from your emblem when you die and it will only be lost if you die and it’s at the lowest tier. That said, the benefits definitely outweigh the risks when it comes to having an emblem with you. Before you go on your Bounty Hunter runs, make sure to have an emblem with you at all times. If you do lose it, buy one immediately.

Have A Good Build

Unfortunately, the success of your Bounty Hunter runs ultimately rely on your build. Even if you’ve mastered the game’s combat and the layout of the area where the minigame is held, you’re still not going to be successful if you don’t plan your equipment accordingly. With that, we’re going to list down a few setups for budgets so you can adjust depending on what’s available to you.
